About

David Parkes is an Australian touring and session drummer hailing from Warrnambool, Victoria.

Since relocating to Melbourne to complete a Bachelor of Music Performance at Melbourne Polytechnic, he has carved his name into the Australian Progressive Metal scene.

David is currently the live drummer for ARIA Award winning Dan Sultan, and is a member of instrumental metal groups I Built The Sky, and Wallet Inspector.

Most recently, David has toured nationally and internationally, stepping behind the kit for artists Hilltop Hoods, Periphery (USA), The Amity Affliction, Alpha Wolf, Paledusk (JPN), Jake Banfield (USA), Running Touch, and Zac & George.

As of 2026, David is available for in-person drum lessons and remote recording, from his studio in Melbourne.
